CHEMICAL NAME ALCLOMETASONE.
INDICATIONS Aclovate is a corticosteroid used to reduce itching, redness, and swelling associated with many skin conditions.
DIRECTIONS Follow the directions for using Aclovate provided by your doctor. To use Aclovate Ointment: apply a small amount of medicine to the affected area. Gently rub the medicine in until it is evenly distributed. Wash your hands after applying this medicine, unless your hands are part of treated area. Do not bandage or wrap the affected area unless directed otherwise by your doctor. If you miss a dose of this medicine, apply it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
SIDE EFFECTS Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience skin thinning and discoloration, itching, burning, redness, or swelling not present before using this medicine. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS If your symptons do not improve within a few days, or if they become worse, check with your doctor. Do bit yse this medicine longer than the time prescribed. Do not use this medicine for other skin conditions at a later time. Do not get this medicine in your eyes. If this medicine was prescribed to treat the diaper area of a child, avoid using tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants. For Women: If you plan on becoming pregnanat, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. It is unknown if this medicine is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be Breast-Feeding while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
OVERDOSAGE If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
INFORMATION Do not share Aclovate with others for whom it was not prescribed. Do not use this medicine for other health conditions. Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. If using this medicine for an extended period of time, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
