ERYTHROMYCIN and BENZOYL PEROXIDE.
INDICATIONS
Erythromycin-Benzoyl Peroxide has antibacterial action which prevents pimples and blackheads. It also removes excess oil and dries the skin. It is used in the treatment of mild to moderate acne.
DIRECTIONS
Follow the directions for using Erythromycin-Benzoyl Peroxide provided by your doctor. Before using Erythromycin-Benzoyl Peroxide Gel, thoroughly wash, rinse with warm water, and gently dry your skin. Apply and rub in a thin film of medicine to the affected skin and the surrounding area. Store this medicine in the refrigerator in a tightly closed container. Do not freeze. discard unused medicine after 3 months.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose of this medicine, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
SIDE EFFECTS
Slight stinging, redness, eye irritation, itching, tenderness, dryness and peeling may occur initially. Expect this. However, if redness or irritation continue or become worse, notify your doctor. Moisturizers or cool compresses may help relieve the irritation. This medication may stain hair or colored fabric. Use cautiously to avoid contact with clothing or hair. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS
Tell your doctor if you have: other skin disorders, allergies (especially to antibiotics). Unless ordered by your doctor, avoid sunlamps, sunbathing or other topical acne medications while using this drug. Excessive skin irritation can occur. This drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. It is not known if this medication is found in breast milk consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
OVERDOSAGE
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
INFORMATION
Do not share this medicine with others for whom it was not prescribed. Do not use this medicine for other health conditions. Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. If using this medicine for an extended period of time, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
