CHEMICAL NAME HYDROCORTISONE.
INDICATIONS Locoid Lipocream is a corticosteroid used to reduce itching, redness, and swelling associated with many skin conditions.
DIRECTIONS Follow the directions for using Locoid Lipocream provided by your doctor. To use Locoid Lipocream: apply a small amount of medicine to the affected area. Gently rub the medicine in until it is evenly distributed. Wash your hands after applying this medicine, unless your hands are part of treated area. Do not bandage or wrap the affected area unless directed otherwise by your doctor. If you miss a dose of Locoid Lipocream, apply it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
SIDE EFFECTS Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience skin thinning and discoloration, itching, burning, redness, or swelling not present before using this medicine. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS If your symptoms do not improve within a few days,or if they become worse, check with your doctor. Do not use Locoid Lipocream longer than the time prescribed. Do not use Locoid Lipocream for other skin conditions at a later time. Do not get Locoid Lipocream in your eyes. If this medicine was prescribed to treat the diaper area of a child, avoid using tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants. FOR WOMEN: If your plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. It is unknown if this medicine is excreted in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
OVERDOSAGE If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
INFORMATION Do not share this medication with others. Store at room temperature 59 to 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from sunlight or as directed on the label. Avoid freezing.
